Talking Freight: The Use of Emission Reduction Technologies in Freight Vehicles
Wednesday, May 15, 2019 5:00:00 PM UTC - 7:30:00 PM UTC
Freight transportation volumes continue to increase, and the increasing volumes mean more freight vehicles are transportation goods into, out of, and within the United States. The growing freight shipments also mean more fuel is needed to transport those goods, which collectively increase the potential for vehicular emissions. These emissions can degrade air quality, potentially creating human and natural environment impacts. Many public and private sector organizations, including freight carriers and engine manufacturers, recognize the need to reduce the emissions created by diesel powered vehicles and/or use alternative fuel vehicles with lower emissions, when operationally and economically feasible. Various clean diesel and other fuel emissions reduction technologies have been developed and are being implemented that allow freight carriers and engine manufacturers to achieve that goal.

This webinar will discuss some of the clean diesel and other emission reductions and alternative fuel technologies that are being increasingly utilized by freight carriers and developed by engine manufacturers. It will also illustrate how both public and private sector organizations are working towards the mutual goal of reducing freight vehicle emissions.
