Funding Opportunity: Pilot Program for Transit-Oriented Development
Wednesday, October 30, 2019 6:00:00 PM UTC - 8:30:00 PM UTC
On September 18, 2019, the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Federal Transit Administration (FTA) announced the availability of $19.2 million in funding to support comprehensive planning that improves access to public transit. The competitive grant funds are provided through FTA’s Pilot Program for Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) Planning. The Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) appeared in the September 18 Federal Register. The Pilot Program for TOD Planning funds comprehensive planning to encourage ridership, transit access, and economic and mixed-use development near public transportation projects. In order to apply for program funding, an applicant must be an FTA grantee – either a project sponsor of an eligible transit project or an entity with land use planning authority in the project corridor. The application period will close on November 18, 2019. FTA will host a webinar on this funding opportunity, from 2:00 to 3:30p EDT on Wednesday, October 30. The webinar will provide an overview of the program, describe eligible applicants and projects, and offer an opportunity for attendees to obtain answers to other questions.
